Requesting and Managing Shift Extensions

The Request Shift Extension feature allows workers to request additional work hours before, during, or after their scheduled shift. This feature ties into existing shift card overrides and enables a smoother, more accurate shift extension request workflow.

This article explains how the feature works, how workers can submit requests, and how admins handle approvals.

Enable

Admins can configure how shift extensions behave by adjusting the Advanced Settings for shifts.

Step 1: Go to the Fareclock Admin Console and navigate to Operations. Under the Operations section, find and click Schedule.

Step 2: Go to Settings. Under “Advanced Settings,” check the box for “Enable Shift Extend Requests.”

Step 3: Once enabled, additional settings will appear for “Maximum past days for shift extend request” and “Maximum future days for shift extend request.” Configure these values according to your organization’s needs.
