Why a job isn't showing on one of your devices

If a job appears on one device but not on another, the job's permission settings are most likely limiting where or for whom it is shown. Each job has a Permissions section that controls which workers, devices and locations can see it in the Time Clock app.

Common reasons a job is hidden

  • Device fields: The job is restricted to certain devices. It will not appear on any device that doesn't match the job's device settings.

  • Worker fields: The job is restricted to certain workers, organizational units, departments or user labels. It will not appear for a worker who doesn't match.

  • Geofence: The job has a geofence. It appears only when the device is inside the geofenced area.

  • Device locked to a job: The device's Costing Overrides lock it to a specific job, so other jobs are not offered.

Because these settings combine, two devices on the same account can show different job lists, and two workers on the same device can see different jobs.

How to check a job's permissions

Step 1: In the Fareclock Admin Console, go to Administration and click Job Costing.

Step 2: Select the job that isn't appearing.

Step 3: Review the Permissions section, including the device fields, worker fields and geofence settings.

Step 4: Update any setting that excludes the device or worker, then save.

How to check the device's settings

Step 1: In the Fareclock Admin Console, go to Operations and click Devices.

Step 2: Select the device.

Step 3: Under Costing Overrides, check whether a job is locked to the device.

If the job still doesn't appear after these checks, contact Fareclock support with the job name, the worker's name and the device name.
