You can prevent clock-ins using a photograph by enabling an optional setting called "Detect face liveness".
To enable:
- Log in to the Admin Console
- Go to Settings => Clocks in the top menu bar.
- Select the Defaults tab,
- Scroll down to the "Show advanced settings" section, and expand it.
- Check the box labeled "Detect face liveness".
- Click the Save button.
All your time clocks (once they sync the enabled setting) will now reject photos. This feature relies on detecting eye blinks, so employee will not be able to clock in wearing tinted sunglasses. Regular eye glasses should be fine, unless there is significant glare on the lens. If an employee is having difficulty passing the face detection, he/she should blink slowly and regularly.
It is still possible to record a video of someone else on their cell phone and then clock in by holding the video in front of the camera. We are planning to release in the future a innovative feature that will prompt the person standing in front of the screen to perform random facial movements that can not be anticipated or pre-recorded. This feature will prevent video spoofing. Expect that to be coming soon.
