Overview
Briefings is a feature that prompts workers in the mobile timeclock app to read a PDF file, and "Acknowledge" it, effectively signing their consent.
A briefing can be prompted to a worker one time or periodically (e.g., once per year). They can read it during the induction process as a new user, or otherwise when clocking IN. They can also review briefings they already acknowledged under their personal page.
Briefings can be enabled per job and/or per user policy. You can set up multiple briefings with different settings. They can be changed as often as you need.
Some examples of briefings might be:
- New employee handbook
- Annual company policy
- Weekly toolbox talk
- Job site specific procedures
The Briefings feature is available on the Premium plan.
Set up
To enable the Briefings feature, go in the Console to Settings -> Users -> Defaults, and turn on "Enable Briefings".
Next, click on the "Briefing Types" button in the blue strip near the top. There, you can add your first Briefing.
Just click on "Add Briefing Type":
Then enter a Name, optional Auto deactivate date, and optional Rebrief after duration. Click Save. Then you'll be able to upload a PDF file for the briefing.
Next, you'll want to assign the Briefing to a Policy and/or a Job.
To create a policy and apply the briefing, click on "Health & Safety" in the blue strip near the top. Add a new policy, or edit an existing one. There you can specify all required briefings for that policy.
Make sure to also assign all appropriate workers to that policy by clicking on the "List" button in the blue strip near the top. You can edit each user individually in the "Credentials" section, or in bulk assign the policy.
To assign a Briefing to a Job, go to Settings -> Costing -> Jobs, edit the specific job, and specify the required briefings:
Time clock
Now that the feature has been all set up, workers will automatically be prompted to read and acknowledge any unread briefings when clocking IN:
All assigned briefings can be reviewed by the worker anytime on the Clock IN screen under the Actions tab:
If the worker sets up Fareclock on their personal mobile device, they'll be prompted to read required briefings upon set up. For more information on setting up Fareclock on a personal mobile device as well as the new worker Induction process, check out the following Help Center articles:

You can review in the Console anytime which briefings a user has accepted, and even delete them to force a rebriefing:
