Step 2: You will see a list of users, click on the user for whom you want to enable the personal device.
Step 3: Under ‘Personal Device Settings,’ check the box next to 'Enable Personal Device' to enable it.
Step 4: Once enabled, enter the user’s mobile phone number and/or email for installation. Select the personal device mode, set the reinstall permission, and optionally configure geo fences.
- Mobile Phone # and/or Email Address: Enter the worker’s contact information to send the install code for app setup.
- Personal Device Mode:
Choose from four options:
- Personal Time Clock - Face or PIN required
- Personal Time Clock - No Face or PIN
- Reports Only
- Group Time Clock Mode
-
Reinstall Permissions: Decide how reinstall requests are handled:
- Admin Approval Required: A reinstall must be approved by an admin through the Console.
- Self-Service Reinstall: Workers can request a new install code using their configured mobile number or email.
- Geo Fences: Assign one or more geo fences to the device. If not set, geo fences from assigned shifts or jobs will still apply.
Once saved, you’ll be prompted to send the activation code via Email, SMS, WhatsApp, or Viber. You may also copy the link and send it externally to the worker.

Reinstall
The Fareclock app, when used in personal device mode, can only be active on one device per employee at a time. If the app is reinstalled on a new or existing device, any previous installation will be automatically logged out.
If administrator approval is required, the admin can generate a new installation code from the Console by selecting the Reinstall button under the user’s personal device settings. The code will be sent to the mobile number or email address associated with the user. The app can then be set up using the link provided or by entering the code manually through the I have a Code option in the app.
If self-reinstall is allowed, the user can request a new installation code directly within the app:
