Summary
As part of our new Scheduling redesign, we've switched from using implicitly inheritable group calendars to more explicit Schedule Teams. We've worked hard to make this transition as seamless as possible. This knowledge base article explains how we've moved your data forward into the new redesign, and how you can change based on your preferences.

The Old Way
In the old Scheduling design, you could create group calendars that a worker will implicitly inherit in the following priority order (highest to lowest):
- Worker calendar
- Org Unit & Department calendar
- Department calendar
- Org Unit calendar
- Organization calendar
You don't have to explicitly assign a worker to any particular calendar. The calendars are automatically applied.
For any particular day, the shifts on the highest priority calendar are used. For example, the following screenshot shows the default calendar for the entire organization.
The New Way
In the new Scheduling redesign, you can define explicit Teams to assign groups of workers to a shift. Then you assign each worker to their appropriate team. Of course, you don't have to assign a worker to any team, and you can assign a schedule specific to that worker.
Automatic Migration
In order to make this transition to the new Scheduler as seamless as possible, we've automatically copied your old schedules into the new design. What this means is we've automatically created a Team for each type of implicit group calendar for which you've created at least one shift. We also merged in higher level calendars on days that don't have a shift. That matches the old behavior. We also automatically selected for each worker the closest matching team.
