Fareclock allows users to customize various format settings to ensure consistency and clarity in time tracking and reporting. These settings control how dates, times, names, durations, and other elements are displayed. Below is a breakdown of each formatting option and its available configurations.
1. Date Format
Admins can select how dates appear in reports and records:
- mm/dd/yy – Example: 03/14/25
- dd/mm/yyyy – Example: 14/03/2025
- mm/dd – Example: 03/14
2. Four-Digit Year
- Enables or disables the use of a four-digit year in date formats.
3. Date Separator
- Slash ( / ) – Example: 03/14/2025
- Hyphen ( - ) – Example: 03-14-2025
4. Day of the Week
Determines how the day of the week appears in date formats:
- Before date – Example: Monday, 03/14/2025
- After date – Example: 03/14/2025, Monday
- None – Hides the day of the week
5. Time Format
- 12-hour – Example: 02:30 PM
- 24-hour – Example: 14:30
6. Duration Format
Controls how time durations (e.g., shift lengths) are displayed:
- Minute – Example: 90 min
- Decimal – Example: 1.5 hours
- Hundredth – Example: 1.50 hours
7. Zero Duration Blank
- If enabled, hides zero-duration values from reports.
8. Pay Accuracy
- Defines the decimal precision for pay calculations (e.g., 2 decimal places).
9. Zero Pay Blank
- If enabled, hides pay values that equal zero.
10. Name Format
Adjusts how employee names are displayed:
- Last, First – Example: Doe, John
- First Last – Example: John Doe
11. Display Middle Name
- Full – Example: John Michael Doe
- Initial – Example: John M. Doe
- No – Omits the middle name
12. All User Fields as Columns
- If checked, all user fields under Settings > Users will be available as fields. If not checked, then a curated list of columns will be available.
13. Distance Unit System
- Metric – Uses kilometers and meters
- Imperial – Uses miles and feet
14. Schedule Event Title Format
Determines how scheduled events are labeled:
- Shift Class – Displays the shift classification
- Start Time – Displays the event’s starting time
15. Punches per Time Card
- This defines the maximum number of punches recorded on a single time card. In the Time Card report, this means the number of punches shown per line or row. While a single time or shift card can technically have an unlimited number of punches, the report will wrap additional punches into multiple lines if they exceed the defined limit, ensuring all data is clearly displayed.
