Fareclock allows you to schedule shifts using inline start and end times directly within the schedule. This feature provides greater flexibility and reduces the need to create multiple shift classes for minor time variations.
Inline start and end times allow administrators to:
• Adjust shift times on the spot
• Avoid creating multiple shift classes for small time differences
• Maintain break rules and compliance settings from a base shift class
To use inline scheduling, a base shift class must first be created.
Requirement: Base Shift Class
Before using inline start and end times, ensure that:
• A shift class is created. You may refer to this help article for guidance on setting up shift classes.
- The shift class is set to a Fixed Time type
- The shift class includes default start and end times
The base shift class acts as the framework for:
• Break rules
• Lock-out rules
• Revision rules
• Other scheduling policies
Inline times will override the start and end time for that specific shift, but all other rules remain tied to the base shift class.
How Inline Start and End Times Work
Step 1: When scheduling a shift, select a shift class.
Step 2: Manually enter the desired start and end time inline.
