If you chose "Schedule" in the previous setup, skip this step and move to the next setup. If you selected "Schedule+Open," configure your open shift settings here.
Step 1: Define your open work shift as either time-based or a flexible shift with a maximum length.
The start time for open shifts is 12:00 AM. This is ideal for employees who can work anytime during the day but not past midnight.
Step 2: If this is enabled, a worker may begin a new open shift even if that worker already had a shift the same day. Multiple scheduled shifts can be created in the calendar regardless.
Optional: You can also specify rounding rules for the beginning and end of the shift. Before you can select rounding rules, you'll need to define them in the Rounding Rules editor.
Step 3: Edit your organization's shift rules by setting:
1. Maximum time clocked OUT during shift - Set the maximum time a worker can be clocked out during a shift. If exceeded, the worker must start a new shift if available.
2. Minimum time between shifts - This value defines the minimum duration a worker must remain clocked out before starting a new shift. The first two settings specify the duration in hours and minutes (HH:MM format).
3. Require Days Off - This setting allows you to specify the number of days off an employee is permitted within a set period.
4. Flag selected shift violations instead of rejecting punch - In the case of certain violations, a worker can still punch in, but the shift violation will be marked as an exception for administrator review. You can choose one of the three options, or you may select all of them.
5. Round joined punches - If enabled, a ‘Job Transfer’ or any other scenario where the OUT and subsequent IN punch happen in the same minute will be rounded according to the shift class or open shift rules. If not enabled, the time remains unchanged. This setting is ideal for rounding times per individual job.
