The Clock Logs feature is designed to provide a detailed audit trail of all attempts made by employees to use the time clock. It helps administrators monitor clock activity, identify issues, and take corrective action when needed.
Clock Logs serve as a comprehensive record of every clock-in and clock-out attempt — whether successful or not. Each log entry includes critical data such as:
- Timestamps
- Location information (GPS)
- Device details
- Photos or facial recognition captures (if face recognition is enabled)
This information enables administrators to thoroughly audit time clock usage, verify compliance, and resolve discrepancies.
What is a Clock Log?
A clock log is a recorded event when an employee attempts to clock in or out using a time clock device. These logs include both:
- Successful punches – Completed clock in or clock out actions.
- Flagged attempts – Clock actions that failed or were incomplete.
Types of Flagged Logs
A clock log may be flagged if the clock-in/out attempt was unsuccessful. This includes:
- Face recognition failed – The system could not verify the employee’s face.
- Incomplete punch – The employee authenticated successfully but did not press “Clock In” or “Clock Out” to finalize the action.
- Rejected log – An administrator manually rejected an approved or flagged log.
Status: Requires Action
Some flagged logs will show a status of "Requires Action." This status means:
- The system detected a face, but face recognition failed, or
- The log is linked to a punch but still needs manual approval or rejection.
These logs require administrator review to either:
- Approve or reject the punch, or
- Update the employee’s face model for better future recognition.
Flag Codes
When reviewing reports, flagged logs will show abbreviated codes in red, separated by dashes. These codes indicate the nature of the issue:
Code | Meaning |
G | Geo error |
O | Offline |
OS | Out of Shift |
P | Punched |
PA | Punch Attempted |
T | Time is Tampered |
You can customize which columns appear in your clock logs, such as status, flags, date, punched time, worker, device, address, geofence, and more.
