Manage Individual Device Setting

Step 1: Go to the Fareclock Admin Console and go to Settings. Under ‘Settings’ find and click ‘Devices’.

Step 2: Select the device you want to edit the settings.

1. Basic Information - If the device is a Personal Device, you cannot edit its details from this page. The displayed information, such as the device name and organizational unit, is based on the user's profile and can only be updated from Settings > Users.

2. Extra Information -

• Geo Fences - If the device is a Personal Device, you cannot edit these settings from this page. To modify them, go to Settings > Users > Personal Device Settings.
• Geo Provider - Automatic uses the recommended geo detection system for the installed app version. You can also manually select Version 1 or Version 2 if needed. Version 2 provides improved location detection, better battery efficiency, and enhanced fake location protection. This setting only applies to supported app versions.
• Override Geo to Disabled - If enabled, the geo feature is disabled on this device. This is useful for devices without a GPS sensor or for stationary mounted devices.
• Override Background Geo to Disabled - If enabled, background geo tracking is disabled on this device.
• Email administrators if device has not communicated with Fareclock service for a duration of - Sends an email notification to administrators if the device has not connected to the Fareclock service within the specified period. This helps identify offline or inactive devices that may require attention.
• Local mode always - If enabled, punches are submitted in the background instead of waiting for the upload to complete. This is useful for devices with slow internet connections, allowing workers to continue without delay.
• Language - This setting determines the language used in the mobile app on this device. Available languages are English, Spanish, and French. (Available in mobile app version 3.0 and later.)
• Announcement - This announcement is displayed on the device, either on the Home screen or after a worker logs in, depending on the device mode. It can also be customized at the organization or worker level, either in addition to this message or as an override.

3. Security Settings -

• Administrator Pin - This PIN is used to access administrator functions in the Time Clock app. Click Random PIN to generate a six-digit administrator PIN.
• Administrator Pin Permissions - The Administrator PIN grants access to the selected administrator functions and permissions.
• User Fields - User Field Settings let you select which user fields are used on this device. You can choose Workers, Organizational Units, Departments, or User Labels to determine which users can access or be displayed on the device.

4. Costing Overrides -

• Job - Select a job for this device.
• Costing Selection is Patrial - If enabled, workers are prompted to select any unlocked fields during clock-in, provided there are available values to choose from. 
  Note: Partial locking for Job, Phase, and Cost Code requires mobile app version 2.11 or later. Job Label locking requires version 3.1 or later.

5. Face Overrides -

• Face mode -

Use Device Defaults - Uses the face mode configured in the device settings.

Off - Disables face detection and facial recognition.

Detect Any Human Face - Verifies that a live human face is present but does not identify the worker.

Recognize Exact Worker Face - Verifies the worker's identity by matching their face with their enrolled face model.

• Face liveness detection strategies -

Use Device Defaults - Uses the liveliness detection mode configured in the device settings.

Eye or Mouth Movement - Requires the worker to move their eyes or mouth to verify they are physically present.

Face Not on Phone or Photo - Detects whether the face is being presented from a real person rather than a phone screen or printed photo.

Passive Local Experimental - Uses an experimental on-device liveliness detection method that verifies the face without requiring any user interaction.

Passive Backend - Uses server-side liveliness detection to verify that the face belongs to a live person without requiring user interaction.

6. Shift Overrides -

• Override Employee Shift Calendar for this Device - If selected, the device's shift schedule overrides the worker's assigned shift schedule. The device schedule applies only when the worker is not currently in a shift. If the worker is already in an active shift, that shift continues unchanged.
• Open Shift Calendar for this Device - This opens the Device Schedule, where you can manage the schedule for this device.

7. Personal Device Settings -

You can view details such as the User, Reinstall Permission, Email, Administrator status, and Mobile Phone for this device.

8. Status -

Here you can view the device's status and details, including its IP address, device model, connection type, last communication, and other information. If the device has not been set up yet, this section will indicate its setup status. You can also access the device's Audit Logs from here.
